Financial assistance is available for qualified families, and as funds are available. Applications for financial assistance are available upon request and are processed by a third party. International students are not eligible to receive financial assistance from the school.

No "admissions exam" is given to prospective students. A "placement exam" is given to each applicant to help ensure proper grade placement for a successful first year. This test is scheduled after all application forms, fees and a copy of applicants most recent report card have been received by the office.

Applications for the 2017-2018 school year are now available.

Applications for the 2017-2018 school year must be received before Friday, August 4, 2017. 

Prospective students will receive a letter or personally address the results of the placement exam roughly 5-7 business days after taking the test.

Yes, Dawn Christian Academy is certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to issue the Form I-20, which is required to apply for a F-1 student visa. Students in grades K through 6 must be living in the U.S. with at least one legal parent. Students in grades 7 though 12 must live with either their parents or an English-speaking guardian who is at least 25 years old and lives full time with the student. Once a F-1 student is accepted, they are expected to stay for a minimm of two consecutive full school years.

Dawn Christian Academy provides an immersion experience. All subjects in grades K through 12 are taught in English. Additional tutoring and/or ESL classes may be available upon request, but are NOT part of the normal program.

Our student to teacher ratio is about 8 to 1. We like to ensure each student receives individual attention from their teacher. Currently, we teach combination classes where two grades are together in one classroom.

Tuition for U.S. residents range from $8,500 to $10,100 for students in grades K through 6 and $10,900 to $12,500 for students grades 7 through 12.

Tuition for international students range from $15,500 to $22,900 for students in grades 5 through 12.

For students in grades K through 6, learning begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:00 PM.

For students in grades 7 through 12, learning begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 3:30 PM. On Wednesdays only - ends at 1:35 PM.

At this time, DCA does not provide any after school programs for students in grades K through 6. In grades 7 through 12, after-school athletics are made available if there is enough interest. Sports offered in the past include volleyball, basketball, track and field, and cross country. The high school sports compete in the Bay Area Christian Athletic League (BACAL), which is a member of the California Interscholastic Federation North Coast Section (CIF-NCS).
